• "My son is a student at United Hearts Community. He is four years old, and this is his third preschool. He has struggled with the traditional school environment as he is showing signs of what our doctor refers to as a raging case of ADHD. We found hope with United Hearts Community because of their music influence and child lead approach.

           We have tried various methods to help our son manage his ADHD symptoms. One of the most effective approaches we have found is through music. There are several studies that detail the specifics of drumming and behavior improvement. A peer reviewed article published in the 2021 Global Engineering Education Conference says, “Music is shown to significantly help children maintain focused attention as well as offer a timed structure around their actions, involving melody and tempo,” (Mania, et al., 2021). We could not agree more with what we have experienced while watching our son’s exposure to playing musical instruments. Music has a calming effect on him and helps him stay focused, which gives him confidence as a student because he is not in trouble all the time.

He has successfully been a student for eight months with United Hearts Community, and we are hopeful he will grow during his last year of Pre-K and be Kindergarten ready. Their love for music was a large part of why we chose to send our son here. We would like to support the longevity of this program not only for our child, but for others like our son. Music is a wonderful tool, and it has brought successes that words themselves cannot express.

• "I am writing to share how the music program has positively impacted my daughter. It has been a wonderful outlet for her to express herself creatively and has helped her embrace vulnerability, building confidence along the way. She has especially enjoyed learning to drum and keeping a beat, and she’s even begun to freestyle and create her own songs, which has been a delightful way for her to explore her creativity.

The nurturing environment at the school has been instrumental in fostering her love for music. I believe the music program is an essential part of our children’s education, providing them with unique and enriching experiences.

• "I am writing to express my strong support for the music program at United Hearts and share the profound impact it has had on my daughter, Reighny.

Since joining, Reighny’s progress has been remarkable. Previously, she had significant challenges with selective mutism, especially in her former school environment. However, through the nurturing and inclusive atmosphere of United Hearts’ music program, Reighny has begun to find her voice—quite literally. She now sings confidently and joyfully, something we couldn’t have imagined just a year ago.

The access to high-quality musical instruments and equipment has undoubtedly contributed to her development. I can confidently say that children like Reighny are gaining meaningful experiences from the tools in the program. They have allowed her to explore music in a way that is both engaging and empowering.

It’s clear to me that the program is not only effective but essential to the personal growth of the children involved. I sincerely hope that this testimony helps demonstrate the value of the music program and encourages its continued support and funding.
